WEB Axel Foley rides again as the new film finds Eddie Murphy returning to the role of the cop from Detroit. The actor, 63, opened up about reprising his character Detroit detective Axel Foley in the upcoming Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F, the fourth installment in the beloved franchise.

Murphy revealed that he pitched the idea for the new film to Paramount Pictures himself.

“They’ve been trying to make anotherBeverly Hills Cop for 15 years now,” Murphy told The Hollywood Reporter. “But the script was never right. It was too silly. It was too over-the-top. Finally, I got involved, and it all came together.”
